I've never been the best at trying to coordinate clothing for pictures with my kids. I decided to do some research and offer some suggestions since Fall pictures are right around the corner. I know I'm not the only one that struggles with this.
Tip #1 - Pick a color scheme of 2-3 colors
By narrowing it down to 2-3 colors this will make it a lot easier to work with. Some good fall colors are browns, mustard yellow, burnt orange, dark shades of green, dark purple and neutrals.
Tip #2 - Include a pattern and some texture
By picking a pattern to tie things together keeps all solid colors from blending in with the background. You could go with stripes, plaid, floral, etc. Adding pattern creates a visual interest to the photos. Adding some texture will add some dimension and depth to the photos. An example of a texture would be a cable knit sweater.
Tip #3 - Layering
You can take your photos to a whole new level simply by adding some layers. It will make such a big difference. Some suggestions would be adding a sweater on top of a shirt, vests, cardigans, skirts over leggings, jacket, etc.
Tip #4 - Add Accessories
Try adding some accessories to your pictures. Some fun ideas are jewelry, hats, scarves, ties.
Tip #5 - Have Fun at Your Session
Once you have everything planned go and have fun with your photo session. You will look great and capture meaningful memories.
